This reverts commit 9b0d46c222.

This change was made to fix a problem in NTFC with kernel build,
but it introduces an incompatibility with make.

We are reverting this change and the NTFC issue will be resolved
on the NTFC side.

9b0d46c222 cmake: normalize .config on reconfigure
olddefconfig only ran when .config was generated from the defconfig,
so changes applied to an existing .config (e.g. with kconfig-tweak)
never got their dependent defaults. Run olddefconfig on reconfigure as
well, as the Make flow does on every build.

This change fixes NuttX’s CMake support when NuttX is embedded
in another project via add_subdirectory(). CMake’s CMAKE_SOURCE_DIR
and CMAKE_BINARY_DIR refer to the outermost project, causing NuttX
to access its .config, generated files, host tools, and build artifacts
in the parent project’s directories. The fix introduces NUTTX_DIR and
NUTTX_BINARY_DIR, based on CMAKE_CURRENT_SOURCE_DIR and
CMAKE_CURRENT_BINARY_DIR, and consistently uses them for NuttX
self-references while preserving existing standalone builds. It fixes
the Kconfig initialization failure reported in #19697 and allows an
embedded sim:nsh build to configure, build, and boot successfully.
The change affects only the CMake build system (not Make or Kconfig
defaults), requires the corresponding nuttx-apps change, and does not
extend add_subdirectory() support to cross-compiled non-sim boards due
to CMake’s toolchain-file limitation.

Fixes #19697.

7eb6a3ca59 cmake: Do not link an executable to detect the compiler.
CMake validates a compiler by building and linking a test program. For a
bare metal cross toolchain that link cannot succeed on its own terms, and
the flags NuttX supplies for it assume a toolchain shipped with newlib:
gcc.cmake sets

  set(CMAKE_EXE_LINKER_FLAGS_INIT "--specs=nosys.specs")

A perfectly usable arm-none-eabi-gcc built without those specs therefore
fails configuration before a single NuttX source file is considered:

arm-none-eabi-gcc: fatal error: cannot read spec file 'nosys.specs':
  No such file or directory
CMake Error: ... CMake will not be able to correctly generate this
  project.

Setting CMAKE_TRY_COMPILE_TARGET_TYPE to STATIC_LIBRARY makes the
detection step compile without linking, which is the documented approach
for cross compiling to a bare metal target. Toolchains that do ship
nosys.specs are unaffected: the flag only applies to CMake's own
detection, not to the NuttX link.

This is not arch specific, so it is set once in the top level CMakeLists.txt
alongside the toolchain-file selection, before project() triggers detection.
sim is excluded: it is hosted and links real host executables, so it keeps
the usual executable-based detection. try_compile() reads the variable from
the calling scope, so it takes effect without living in a toolchain file;
tools/toolchain.cmake.export already sets the same for the exported build.

0afb8c7ad5 cmake/nuttx_toolchain.cmake: track preprocessed include deps
Make preprocess-generated outputs depend on included files by
emitting depfiles for GNU/Clang Ninja/Makefile builds.

This fixes stale generated rc.sysinit and ROMFS images when a
board-specific included fragment such as rc.sysinit.ap changes,
because the previous custom command only depended on the top-level
source file.

7c38d58675 tools/rust: Fix aarch64 NuttX Rust target specs
Add a custom aarch64 Mach-O Rust target for macOS sim builds and use it
instead of an Apple Darwin Rust target. This keeps Rust cfg values aligned
with NuttX while producing Mach-O objects required by the simulator link.

Also align sim host handling for aarch64 Linux by detecting `aarch64` as
`HOST_ARM64` and avoiding x86-specific `-mcmodel` and `-no-pie` options
on ARM64 hosts.

a5f3937ff9 cmake(bugfix):change default compile obj extension to .o
CMake uses the `system_name` parameter by default to determine the .obj file extension.
On the Nuttx platform, our `system_name` is `bare matel`,
while CMake only uses `.o` on Linux/Unix systems otherwise, it uses `.obj`.

Therefore, we will change it to `.o` by default.

1178bf4c57 CMakeLists.txt: fix warnings when using upstream boards in out-of-tree configs
When we use upstream board as a target in out-of-tree board configurations we
should not link dummy/Kconfig with a board Kconfig otherwise this file is

For example, when out-of-tree configuration is like this:

d16de91e39 [MSYS2] CMake+Ninja Fix arm-none-eabi-ar: Argument list too long
This issue is related to the Arm toolchain for Windows which is available for x86 host architecture only (compatible with x86_64)

Issue
/bin/sh: line 1: /home/nuttx/nuttxnew/tools/gcc-arm-none-eabi/bin/arm-none-eabi-ar: Argument list too long

On Windows, arm-none-eabi-ar can only accept strings up to a maximum length of 32,768 characters.

We could suppress the 32K include string limitation by setting the CMake variable CMAKE_NINJA_FORCE_RESPONSE_FILE to ON.

This is unfortunately not enough!!! ): In the build phase this error comes out

1d3dd328dd modify BUILD_LOADABLE to MODULES which backwards-compatible Kernel
maintains the same semantics as Kernel’s module build
and compatible with Kconfiglib implementation.

The problem of kconfiglib not being able to use tri-states is this:
linux is here torvalds/linux@6dd85ff
The module option is extracted from one of the triate three states into a MODULE keyword.
Kconfiglib supports the default implementation of module to be MODULE for compatibility with the linux kernel, and triate degenerates into bool two states
Refer to this code: 061e71f7d7/kconfiglib.py (L4274-L4284)

ab488800bb cmake:enhance the module for adding extra libraries
change the extra library from a file to an import target;
this will avoid differences in the handling of static libraries
between different versions of cmake and different platforms.

after unifying as a target, extra libraries can be
handled as the same as other compiled libraries
